The interior stairway is a work of art. The supporting member is the huge peeled and varnished trunk of a Chicle tree. Treads are Zericote wood and the hand rails are Psalm wood. It creates a dramatic transition from the large entry foyer to the second level.

The ground floor is accessed from the drive-through, covered, Porte Cochere, through double wide, thick mahogany  doors each hand carved with the life sized impression of a Maya King and Princess. The views seaward, from the foyer, through the 20 foot wide front sliding doors are breathtaking. This level also contains a covered verandah, a favorite place for "hammock time".
