Our sea front home is located in the south part of the very quaint, friendly and safe Garifuna fishing village of Hopkins. It has excellent views of the sea, sunrises and the Cayes from the 10 ft. covered balcony.
During the week, the village tends to be fairly quiet (except for the occasional rooster!) while on weekends the area comes alive with music and activity.
The house has an open design, with vaulted, cathedral, tropical hardwood ceilings and large windows to maximize the Caribbean Sea breeze. Both bedrooms have split air conditioner units. With one queen bed, two twin beds ( which can be converted to a king bed) and a full futon in the living room, Casita Del Mar will comfortably sleep six. Minimum stay is 3 nights only at $130 USD per night..No smoking or pets allowed in the home. Any additional Guest is $20 USD.
A short walk will get you to local grocery stores and a variety of restaurants. The beach is sandy, the water is 83 F and the Cayes, for snorkeling or diving, are only 5 miles out. Tired after swimming all morning? Relax in a hammock in the shade on the deck. Or check out the many adventure tours offered in the village from zip lining to cave exploration.
